Meet Alexis
Alexis is finally out making her way in the world . She was a great student in highschool and college. She’s determined to do well. But recently, something that troubled her in early childhood has come back again: nightmares. She had them sometimes in college but figured that was just the normal stress. But now they are worse than ever. For the last year they’ve been coming two or three times a week. Worse, she’s in a relationship that’s really important to her. She and her girlfriend have moved in together and now it’s starting to put a real strain on things between them. She wakes up screaming, needing her girlfriend to rescue her from the paralysis she feels, but Sami is getting fed up. Through the use of cinematic approaches, like flashbacks, viewers feel the uncertainty and terror that comes with this condition. Alexis is healthy. She hasn’t had any special traumas. She’s never been assaulted. She doesn’t drink or take drugs or anything to help her fall asleep. She doesn’t think of herself as a particularly anxious person. So why is her unconscious doing this to her? And how can she make it stop?
